Rinos is on the brink of a significant milestone: as of 1 April, Herman and Age Mulder will assume leadership as managing directors of the family business. This marks the entry of the fifth generation as shareholders—coinciding with the year in which Rinos celebrates its 100th anniversary.
From 1 May, Milco Visscher will strengthen the management team as commercial director. The current managing director, Peter Kuipers, will oversee the transition and step down on 31 July.
A well-planned transition
This leadership change at Rinos is not a sudden shift but the result of a carefully structured and well-thought-out process. In 2022, we announced that the fifth generation was preparing to take over the company (read the 2022 announcement here). Since then, we have been working step by step towards a seamless transition, with continuity and the preservation of the values that have defined Rinos for a century as our guiding principles.
At the time, we emphasised the importance of gradually transferring knowledge and expertise. Now, three years later, the moment has arrived: Herman and Age Mulder will officially take over the leadership as the fifth generation, honouring the company’s heritage while maintaining a strong focus on the future.
A family business in motion
Herman and Age Mulder have been actively involved in Rinos for many years—Herman as finance director and Age as operations director. Their experience both inside and outside the company provides a strong foundation for their new role as joint managing directors.
Since 2020, Peter Kuipers has led Rinos as managing director, guiding the company’s continued development and growth. “We want to thank Peter for his dedication and support during this transition period,” says Herman Mulder. “Rinos remains a true family business, where craftsmanship and innovation go hand in hand. With Milco joining the team, we are well-positioned to continue building our future.”
Age Mulder adds: “We have been working towards this moment for a long time, and we are proud to take on this responsibility as the fifth generation. Our focus is on strengthening our market position while staying true to the values that have made Rinos successful.”
Experience and fresh energy
With over 25 years of experience in sales and marketing within the carpet industry, Milco Visscher brings valuable expertise to the Rinos commercial team. “I look forward to working with Herman, Age, and the entire team to build a strong future for Rinos,” says Milco.
