From rush to coir mat

It all started with the coir mat

In the early 20th century, mat production in Genemuiden—the heart of the Dutch carpet industry—boomed. Handmade rush mats were replaced by machine-woven coir mats. Rinos was founded in 1925, and this year we celebrate our 100th anniversary. As the last remaining coir mat manufacturer in Europe, we still produce the classic version, now made with Endura9: yarn spun from extra-long, durable coir fibers.
